What I used to hate most about marketing was the relentless pressure I put on myself:
Pressure to make myself visible. Pressure to get results—whether that meant sales, followers, list growth, or something else. Pressure to follow certain rules and strategies that didn’t necessarily align with who I am.
Why did I follow them anyway?
Because I believed that the people teaching these ‘rules’ were more successful than I was, so they must know best, right?
But everything changed when I realized that the secret to effortless marketing isn’t in the actions you take, but in the energy you bring.
If marketing feels uncomfortable for you right now, the shift in perspective I took might help you, too.
I shifted from thinking, “If I don’t take action, I won’t get any results,” to understanding that your actions aren’t the most important thing. At all.
The people who are meant to work with you will find you, one way or another. They’ll sign up, work with you, or buy your offering when they’re ready.
The people you can truly make a difference for respond to your energy—to your beingness, to who you ARE.
Whoever is meant to work with you will do so when the time is right. Whether you post on social media twice a day or never. Whether your website copy is flawless or not. Whether your marketing message is ‘perfect’ or not.
So, relax. Take a breath. Let go of the pressure to follow marketing ‘rules.’ Stop pushing yourself to do things you don’t enjoy.
Instead, do what feels good to you—whether it’s writing, making videos, podcasts, networking, or even doing nothing at all. Be true to yourself and speak from the heart.
That’s all you need to do.
Love,
