I finally followed up on an idea I had … after 5 years.
Substack.
You’ve probably heard of it.
Since I’m a writer at heart and write a lot, I had the idea to start a Substack account to post my writings there too and, possibly, finding new readers there.
I never followed up on it.
Three years ago, I made another pivot in my business and threw out everything I wrote again.
Good thing I hadn’t started a Substack yet—I’d have had to delete that account, too. 🙂
Fast forward to yesterday.
I created my account and posted my first blog.
There was a time where I judged myself for not following up on my ideas.
I thought I was lazy or scared of more visibility.
But when I tried to force myself to act on something, it never worked out and it sure as hell wasn’t easy or fun.
Then, I learned to honor my inner wisdom.
If, for some reason, I didn’t do something, that apparently was the right thing—even if I didn’t understand it.
But the judgments and doubts were still there.
Shouldn’t I do it after all?
Why, oh why, wasn’t I doing something I KNEW was important / a good idea / necessary?
Fast forward to now.
The judgments dropped, too.
I know that everything is exactly as it should be, whether or not I understand why something is the way it is.
It’s all life happening and unfolding through me, as me.
The mind still spins stories around this at times, but I no longer listen to its nonsense.
If you have an idea you’re not acting on or wonder if you’re lazy:
Relax. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
If it truly needed to happen, it already would have.
Love,
