“Not everyone will understand what you write about,” she said, looking slightly worried.
“I know,” I said.
“That’s because I don’t write for everyone.”
My goal in writing is not to be understood, guide, teach, or take someone by the hand.
I only have one goal, one all-encompassing aim:
To let the writing be what it already is.
Period.
My writing, my courses, my coaching: they’re for the ones who resonate.
They resonate with or without understanding what I’m on about.
They don’t need explanations, bridges, or an emotional cushion in case they fall.
The ones who need, demand an explanation aren’t the ones who resonate.
They’re not the ones my writing and work are for.
They find their resonance elsewhere.
That’s exactly how it’s supposed to be, or else it would be different.
So why try to reach those my words aren’t for?
Why dilute what IS in a futile attempt to control what IS?
No.
‘My’ job is to let come through what’s already here, and be as true to that as I possibly can.
Regardless of being understood.
Of being liked.
Or even being seen.
Your job is exactly the same as mine:
To let come through what’s already here, and be as true to that as you possibly can.
Not that any of this is our doing in any way, of course.
It’s all just life doing its thing through us, for us, as us, as me, as you.
There’s nothing other than that.
Love,
P.S.: If my words resonate, my work might too.
