Every time you feel happy, it has nothing to do with your circumstances.
It’s not because you’re in love, you closed a big deal, reached a big goal or got a new car.
And it’s not because someone else made your heart melt.
It’s because, for a little while, there was NO resistance to the present moment.
Think about a time you got exactly what you wanted—a new car, a dream vacation, or the perfect relationship.
The joy you felt wasn’t because of the thing itself but because, in that moment, you weren’t wishing for something else or resisting what was.
For a little while, you didn’t want to change anything about this moment, yourself, another, or the world.
There were no thoughts telling you that things should be different than they are.
And in the absence of that resistance, your true nature of joy, aliveness, and happiness lit up the moment, your life, your whole existence.
Happiness isn’t caused by gaining something or adding something to your life.
It’s not caused by your circumstances or experiences.
Happiness is the absence of resistance to what IS.
Happiness is what you are, even underneath all inner turmoil, sadness, and grief.
If right now you don’t feel happy, let it be. Let the sadness be.
Nothing needs to change. Nothing needs fixing.
Even the thought that says, this shouldn’t be happening—let that be here, too.
Even resistance is allowed.
See what happens when you stop fighting the moment.
In that moment of total acceptance of everything that IS, can you sense a little piece of inner stillness underneath it all?
Notice how happiness is already here, even when resistance or ‘negative’ feelings arise.
The more you stop resisting, the more happiness reveals itself.
You’ll still enjoy the new car and realizing a dream—but you’ll no longer be chasing them for happiness.
Happiness isn’t somewhere out there.
It’s already here, in you.
It always was.
It always will be.
Love,
