Ah. Of course!
Just closing the form is the simple solution.
That realization dawned on me this morning, after having already sent the email about the One Thing Deep Dive Chat.
You see, last Friday, I opened 3 spots for that free chat with me. In the email I mentioned that if the spots were already gone, I’d let you know that, too.
But … then you would have already filled out the form.
And even though it’s just a few questions, you’d still have put time and energy in, only to hear that the spots are already taken.
As if you have nothing better to do than fill out forms.
This morning, while sipping my favorite tea*, not thinking about anything in particular, suddenly this thought popped up:
“You could also just close the form. When people see the form is closed they’ll get that the spots are gone.”
Of course. Duh. So much simpler and a time-saver for both of us.
In this case, I didn’t really think my ‘strategy’ through.
The idea for these chats simply popped in my head and I ran with it.
(To be fair — this is how I do most things. Winging my way through life, baby.)
Sometimes, however, things get complicated (or harder than they need to be) because I think about it too much.
My clients do this too.
There’s one thing that keeps circling back, overthinking kicks in, and somewhere around 1.12 am they’re still wide awake, going over an idea for the umpteenth time.
They can’t stop thinking about it, and this overthinking paralyzes or overwhelms them, overcomplicating everything.
Don’t get me wrong, thinking is a hell of a useful tool.
But it can also keep your mind spinning without getting you anywhere.
That’s what often happens when there’s one thing you can’t get sorted, no matter what you do. A recurring issue that keeps.coming.back. Or a dream that still stays out of reach.
The solution you fall back on is usually more thinking:
Analyzing. Strategizing. Googling “how to manifest what I want” or “how do I get rid of stress forever” for the 46th time, hoping to find the secret you’ve somehow missed so far.
And then some more thinking, wondering how to implement that new method you found. Or wondering if this will finally work for you. Or visualizing your success in advance. That always works, they say. (Well, it didn’t for you yet.)
But more thinking won’t help. If it would, you’d have already reached that dream or gotten rid of that issue.
What does help?
Dropping the whole analyzing / strategizing / fixing loop you’re stuck in.
And then noticing what arises when the dust has settled and you’re no longer chasing solutions.
Maybe it’s a solution. Maybe it’s a next step, a totally unrelated idea, or simply some rest in your bones.
Your one thing doesn’t need so much effort.
(Life and business in general don’t need so much effort.)
It can be easier.
Like out of the blue realizing that you can simply close the form.
(Oh, and it’s closed now. The spots are filled. I probably won’t offer this again. And if I do, the subscribers to my exhale mails hear about it first. You can sign up below.)
Love,

*my favorite tea, in case for some reason you feel like sending me a truckload of it? 😉
