I looked at my sales page and thought, ‘meh’.
The freshly re-written copy felt good. But the look? Meh. I wasn’t loving it.
But I’d completely hit the limit of what I, a total non-designer and non-coder, could produce myself.
So I forgot about it.
Two days later, I read that someone who’s a total non-designer and non-coder as well, had created her own smooth sales page with Claude Design.
Hey! I thought. I could do that, too! Let’s just play with it.
After a false start and some annoying trouble-shooting (the words “what the fuck, motherfucker?!” may have been heard), the page was ready … in the same style as the rest of my website … and already published on it.
Ha!
It was so much easier than I thought!
Anyhow, the point is this — and no, it’s not how great Claude Design is (even though it is.):
Annoyance showed up.
And it didn’t take over.
There was a time when that annoyance would have possessed me. Taken over the controls and completely ruined my mood.
And I needed to push through the resistance with gritted teeth to finish the damn thing.
Now there’s just annoyance. Some curses flying around.
And it’s no big deal.
And suddenly, the page is finished.
No force or ass-kicking needed.
Annoyance is just a temporary state now.
Here one moment, gone the next.
Instead of parked in my chest for the rest of the day, running the show from the background.
Of course, creating a new sales page is just a small thing.
Even if I hadn’t made a new one, it would have been fine.
You may be struggling with something bigger now.
Like not being able to finish your book.
Wondering where to find your next client.
Or looking at your bank account and worrying about next month’s mortgage.
But no matter how ‘big’ or ‘small’ something feels to be, the mechanism is the same:
Fears and feelings can take over …
Or they don’t.
The difference is in where you put your attention:
On the story about the situation.
Or on the part of you that’s not telling any story at all.
Love,

P.S. Curious to see what the page looks like?
It’s nothing fancy, but it looks professional and is exactly my style: open, spacious, simple.
Just the way I like it.
P.P.S. Liked this blog?
