I read the description of a spiritual retreat.
A couple of years ago, this would have pulled me in.
Hard.
It’s filled with promises: learn how to quantum jump!
Become a master manifestor!
Connect to pure life force and watch the miracles you co-create from there!
Oh yes.
Years ago I would have jumped to get in.
Sign me up, baby!
Now, I see the language and promises that used to pull on my heart strings.
And I know: no.
This is no longer for me.
That ship has sailed.
I recognize the underlying assumptions that are no longer the foundation of my life:
That you’re a separate person who needs to do something to arrive somewhere else.
The entire premise is:
You are not enough yet.
You need to do intense practices, and then maybe—if you master your mind enough— you’ll finally access “the field,” create your dream life, and become more whole, healed, or awakened.
I don’t believe that anymore.
Years ago, I’d have signed up for this retreat.
A spiritually, scienc-y get together?
Yes, please!
Now, I no longer resonate.
Not because I know better.
But because I see and experience life differently.
If you resonate with retreats and programs like that, go for it!
What calls you is exactly what’s best for you.
If you no longer resonate with offers like these and wondered why:
perhaps for the same reasons I no longer resonate.
Those retreats and courses can bring peak experiences.
I’ve had them.
But those experiences fade, and the search continues,
because the seeker hasn’t been seen through.
If you’re still seeking, fine.
If you’re tired of it—
maybe seeking is starting to fall away.
Let it.
You never did it anyway.
Love,
