It took a while to say goodbye forever.
Seemingly to a friend, but in reality … to me.
This friend and I shared a magical connection.
We rarely talked but when we did, new insights and ideas came up so fast it was hard to keep track of them.
And the amount of energy I felt for days was through the roof!
We found each other in similar views on life.
On manifesting.
On topics like parallel universes and quantum jumping.
I read her newsletters religiously.
They were beautiful reminders of the things we always talked about.
Then, something in me shifted.
It wasn’t a breakthrough.
It wasn’t a mindset shift.
I just … shifted out of the mind.
Into awareness.
And for a split second,
I thought this drop might still go hand in hand with what I used to believe.
It didn’t.
One by one,
beliefs and stories fell away.
Just like that.
When that friend and I met again, I told her about this shift.
About what fell away, without effort or intention:
Over-excitement.
My vision and mission for my business.
And almost everything I used to believe about manifesting.
I simply didn’t see life the same way as before.
I no longer saw individuals making anything happen in any way,
whether through manifesting or hustle.
I just saw life.
Unfolding.
No one doing anything.
No one making anything happen.
Just this, moving.
She didn’t get it.
(I didn’t need her to.)
She thought my life was super boring now.
(It isn’t. It feels richer, freer and more alive than ever.)
It was clear we no longer found each other in shared interests or beliefs.
I still liked her.
But everything that once made our friendship magical was gone.
I knew our connection was over.
What she wrote about in her newsletters no longer aligned with me.
Yet, I didn’t unsubscribe.
Part of me held on to what was.
Part of me held on to who I used to be.
To a soft echo of what used to light me up
and fascinated me for decades.
I wasn’t ready to let that go yet.
Until one day, I unsubscribed.
Severed all ties.
I didn’t unsubscribe from her.
I unsubscribed from who I used to be.
While realizing all the time it wasn’t me who hit that button—
that, too, was simply life happening,
seemingly as me.
Love,
