It hides in every piece of content.
Under every thing you launch.
It hides under ‘authenticity’.
And ‘value’.
It glued itself to your content marketing and inspirational posts.
It’s the question you (secretly) ask yourself:
Will they like me?
Even the most conscious entrepreneur still checks.
Still watches.
Still hopes.
Did someone respond yet?
Did someone like my post?
Buy my course?
Every like boosts the self-esteem.
Every sale a quiet high.
But only for a little while.
Soon, the ego wants, needs, more.
No response?
Might mean you’re not liked.
Might mean there’s something wrong with you.
Oh no!
You think you don’t fall prey to this attachment.
But when was the last time your heart dropped, even a little, at an empty inbox? No sales.
No sign-ups.
Or when no one liked your post you worked so hard on?
All this checking and hoping was never about being liked.
It was always something deeper:
Getting proof that you are good enough.
That you have a right to exist.
That you are truly seen.
No like can ever fill that hole.
It doesn’t need to.
Because that hole is just a thought.
A shard of nothingness.
Love,
