Making a mistake is a big deal for many people.

Maybe it is for you, too.

But why?

There’s nothing wrong with making mistakes.

Correct what you can, apologize if needed, learn from your mistake, and move on.

No big deal.

The reason making mistakes is a Big Thing you need to avoid at all cost, is that it can trigger deeper pains and wounds.

It can trigger your doubt if you’re good enough, if you’re worthy of love, or if there’s something wrong with you.

You don’t want to feel that pain and think you won’t have to feel it as long as you make no mistakes.

That won’t work.

Other things can trigger that pain.

If you’re afraid to make mistakes, ask yourself why that is.

Sometimes you need to heal deeper pains.

But sometimes, reminding yourself that making a mistake is no big deal and it’s part of living and learning is enough to give yourself more breathing space.

What would you do if you allowed yourself to make mistakes?

What would change for you then?

“There’s nothing wrong with making mistakes.”
