What to do when you don’t feel like doing much of anything.

That was going on for me this morning.

I could think of stuff I COULD do.

 

Not bullshit-let’s-keep-busy-stuff, no, Real Things That MATTER:

Like working on my upcoming book.

Like working on an idea for a program around the book.

But NONE of it felt inspired.

 

I used to either force myself into action when I felt like this OR got all worked up about not ‘working’.

Because when you want to accomplish things, you have to Work For It!

Not feeling like it is a form of self-sabotage & wimpiness!

And sometimes that’s true.

Sometimes you know DAMN WELL what you have to do, but you’re resisting it out of some kind of fear.

But other times?

 

Not feeling like something is a sign that whatever you THINK you should do, is NOT what you should do at all.

Other things require your attention.

You may not even know what these other things ARE.

Sometimes you’re integrating your latest learnings & uplevels, for example.

Or your body needs rest.

 

But you don’t have to know what’s going on.

Because when you listen to your intuition, you ALWAYS know what to do.

And that ALWAYS works out perfectly.

I’ve learned to trust my own inner knowing above EVERYTHING & EVERYONE else.

As I teach my clients, too.

 

I know best.

 

And so do you.

So what do I do when I don’t feel like doing much?

I LISTEN.

To my body, my soul, my heart.

To what I DO feel like – even when my mind still tries to tell me I should stop wasting time and get to ‘work’.

(Yeah –still detoxing from old outdated beliefs sometimes;-))

 

Next time you don’t feel like doing things you THINK you should do, remember this:

Not feeling like it is ALWAYS a sign.

The only question is:

Of WHAT?

That you’re resisting something that’s exactly what you need to do right now?

Or that you’re trying to force yourself to do something that’s not what you have to focus on right now AT ALL?

 

Check in with yourself & LISTEN.

Notice what goes on inside you. No censoring. No judging. Total honesty.

Then act on what you deeply DO feel like.

Like I felt like going to the hairdresser today.

Hence the fresh hair in the picture 🙂

What do YOU feel like doing today?

 

Do it.

Your truth never steers you wrong.
