We all freak out sometimes.

And what’s NOT helpful is usually the first thing you do:

You run around frantically, literally or inside your mind, trying to come up with a great (and hopefully quick) solution.

 

Which never works.

You don’t get good ideas in freak-out moments

And any action you take is a panicked move that’s useless at best and backfires at worst.

 

What DOES help is to first understand what’s really going on:

Freaking out means you’ve lost touch with your soul, with source, with who you truly are: a spiritual being having a human experience.

It means you mistakenly think that your fears are in control of you – when in reality, it’s the other way around: YOU are in control of your fears. They have no more power over you than you give them.

Freaking out means you’ve temporarily lost sight of the perspective of your soul, and you’re (temporarily) trapped in your small self.

The way back to sanity, wisdom and trust is to first of all acknowledge what’s really going on.

 

To remind yourself that you’re a spiritual being having a human experience.

To remind yourself that panic and fears are part of this human experience – and that they are no more than that: part of your human experience.

Part of your small self.

And to remind yourself that you ONLY freak out when you think you’re alone, and you have to figure it all out by yourself.

Which is not true.

When you take a moment to take a couple of deep breaths, and you keep breathing deeper and deeper, you’ll feel yourself calm down again.

 

Once you’ve calmed down, you’ll have access to the wisdom of your soul again.

And hear the nudges and whispers it has for you.

Now, your next best step can become clear to you.

It may or may not be an action that’s directly related to the topic you freaked out about earlier.

And it may take a while before you feel calm enough to get a sense of your next move.

 

Do whatever you can to find your inner calm, and to reconnect to your soul.

Throw EVERYTHING at it that helps you with this: pray, journal, vent, cry, meditate, sleep on it, take a walk, listen to music, sing, dance, or whatever works for you.

Ask the universe for help, ideas, and opportunities to turn your situation around and create something beautiful out of it.

 

And finally: don’t resist the freak out.

Lean into it, and it will evaporate.

It WILL.
