Language matters. The words you use and how you use them, have tremendous power:

Words direct your focus. And what you focus on, expands.

Imagine what that means when you say things like:

  • I can’t afford that.
  • It’s hard to make money.
  • I’m not good with money.
  • Why don’t I have my finances sorted yet?
  • I should have made or saved more money already!
  • Why am I incapable of making more money? What’s wrong with me?
  • I don’t believe I’ll ever be rich. I just don’t have it in me.

These statements make you feel bad.

They lower your energy. They lower your self-esteem.

They make you feel trapped, because they close your mind: this is just the way it is, and there’s not much you can do.

They make you feel like a victim of your circumstances instead of like a powerful, conscious creator. (Which is what you truly are!!)

These statements focus your attention on what you lack:

On everything you don’t have, don’t want, aren’t capable of, and don’t believe is possible.

What you focus on, expands.

So when you focus on things you do NOT want, guess what you create more of?

Right: more of what you DON’T want!

So how do you shift this?

#1 Awareness.

Pay attention to your words. Notice how you talk about money, bills, your income, your expenses, EVERYTHING having remotely to do with money and finances.

#2 Reframe your statements.

Instead of saying ‘I can’t afford this’, say:

I choose to spend my money on something else.

Or:

If I really wanted this, I’d find a way to pay or save for it.

Instead of saying:

I’m just not good with money!

Say:

I can learn to make smarter money decisions.

Or:

If I choose to, I can learn everything I want and need to know about money and finances.

Instead of saying:

I just don’t have it in me to be rich. It’s not for me.

Say:

I wonder if I could get rich. I wonder what’s possible for me if I open my mind and just play with this.

Pay close attention to your words, and change them if they make you feel bad and restricted.

#3 Focus on what you DO have.

Shift your focus from your apparent lack to the abundance that’s already present in your life.

Sure, there are tons of things you don’t have (yet).

AND there are tons of things you DO have.

Notice them. Consciously pay attention to them.

Bless everything you have, acknowledge it, and be grateful for it.

Remember: what you focus on expands.

So make sure you focus on what you DO want.

And pay close attention to your words.

All your results and creations start there.
