I sometimes look at people who make a lot of money and can always easily afford whatever they need, and think:

I wish my life looked like that.

And then I think: well, that’s never going to happen.

That’s not for me.

I’m not the kind of person who can have that.”

Someone said this to me recently in a conversation we had about her financial situation.

She told me about the stress she often feels when it comes to money. She worries about it a lot, and finds it hard to change her financial situation.

She WANTS to… but she feels totally powerless and incapable of changing it.

Makes sense. Because:

She doesn’t think of herself as someone who can make more money than she currently does.

She believes you have to be a certain kind of person to make a lot of money, to get rich, or to even feel financially stable and secure.

And she believes that that is someone she is NOT.

I asked her what kind of person she thought you have to be to make a lot of money.

I’m not sure,” she said, “I never really thought about that.

I just always thought that there are two kinds of people: those who have money, and those who don’t.

You’re either one or the other.

And you can’t change that.

I thought it was normal to look at the world like this.

I never questioned it.

I never thought I could look at it in another way.

I just felt powerless and unable to change my situation.

And it felt so frustrating to desire something, and thinking I could never have it!”

She’s not the only one who thinks you have to be a certain kind of person to:

  • Start or grow a successful business;
  • Write a book;
  • Be successful;
  • Get rich;
  • Drive a certain type of car or live in a certain type of house;
  • Or whatever it is you want to achieve or dream of.

For a looooong time, I thought you had to be a certain type of person to create a really successful business, and make a lot of money.

I wasn’t super clear on what type of person that was exactly.

I was simply sure I wasn’t it.

And all I could see was ‘evidence’ that I was indeed incapable of creating the success I wanted.

I looked at people who’d already achieved what I longed for, and all I could see was everything that I thought made us different.

See? I thought. They’re different kind of people. And I’m a different kind. So I can’t have that.

B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T! of course.

But it took me a while to reach that conclusion.

Yes, you have to do the necessary work to achieve the goal you’re after.

Yes, this requires you to become the kind of person who is capable of manifesting that goal.

But that doesn’t mean you have to become someone you’re not so it’s impossible for you!!!!

It only means you have to become ALL of who YOU are, without holding back or hiding out, fulfilling YOUR highest potential in YOUR own way in complete alignment with who YOU truly are!

The people who achieve their goals are those who do what it takes to achieve them – including examining and changing their mindset and beliefs that are in their way.

And that is something EVERYONE is capable of.

We are ALL born with the capacity to fulfill our purpose and our calling, and the dreams we’re capable of dreaming.

It doesn’t take a certain kind of person.

All it takes is for you to be all you can be.

Nothing more. And nothing less.

So think about it:

  • What type of person do you think you have to be to reach a goal or dream you desire to manifest?
  • Do you see yourself as the kind of person who can do, be, have and experience that?

If you don’t think you can because it’s just not for you: stop believing that right now:

Make a list of reasons why you ARE capable of achieving what you dream of.

Read that list every day. Add new reasons the moment you think of them.

Actively start looking for evidence why you CAN do, be, have or experience what you want to accomplish.

Write that down EVERY SINGLE DAY.

And start seeing other people’s success as evidence of what’s possible for you, too.

If one person can do it, so can you!

To being all you can be and allowing yourself to receive whatever you dream of, baby!
