This is part of a comment I recently read in one of the Facebook groups I’m in.
The topic of the discussion was, as you may have guessed:
Marketing, promoting, and selling.
All the things you have to do as an entrepreneur before you can do the actual work you love to do – the work you started your business for in the first place.
A lot of women hate that part of business.
So did I.
And it took me a while to figure out that you really DO need to learn about marketing and business if you want to be able to make a living doing what you love.
But when I started implementing what I learned about business and marketing, I experienced the same problem many women entrepreneurs face as well:
It didn’t work for me.
I saw other people get results where I got nothing.
Even though I was in the same program and took the same steps as they did.
I didn’t understand why this happened.
And on top of feeling frustrated about my lack of results, I also started doubting myself and my entrepreneurial capacities.
Most of my clients experienced the exact same thing.
And chances are YOU recognize this, too.
Don’t start doubting yourself when you see others soar while you have to work your ass off to get some (if any) results.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
The cookie-cutter steps and marketing recipes that work like a charm for some people, are simply not a good fit for you.
So how do you solve that?
And how do you figure out what does work for you?
These steps help:
Step #1: learn to use your intuition in your business.
This is your MOST valuable business tool.
When you learn to tap into, trust, and act upon your intuition, you will ALWAYS know what’s best for you.
Regardless of what others do, say, advise, or expect from you.
All that noise will no longer distract you.
And your intuition will always lead you to those steps, actions and marketing strategies that do fit you like a glove.
Step #2: play to your strengths.
Don’t just use your strengths in the actual work you do in your business.
Use them as much as you can in your marketing as well!
Are you a good listener?
Use that skill to get to the bottom of your clients problems and desires, so you can create programs and sales pages your audience immediately resonates with.
Are you a good writer?
Choose writing as your number one marketing strategy.
Are you at your best when you connect to people live?
Make sure direct interaction is part of your marketing, in whatever way lights your fire.
Step #3: get your mojo back.
Step out of your serious business mode, where you try so hard to do the right thing that you end up as tight arsed and stiff-upper-lipped as Queen Victoria.
(With all due respect, but hey, she doesn’t exactly look like a barrel of fun or a woman enjoying the hell out of life, does she?)
Focus on things that light you up instead.
The difference your work makes in the lives of your clients, for example.
Or finding fun ways to market your business.
Or focusing on ways to experience more joy in everything you do on a daily basis.
Start implementing these steps, and you’re on your way to find YOUR way to do business – the only way of doing business that fits you like a glove, feels good, AND gets you results as well.
