No wonder it can make you feel insecure sometimes.

How will your clients find you? How will they even know you exist? And why would people choose to work with you instead of someone else?

How on earth can you set yourself apart from all the other coaches in your field?

There’s actually a lot you can do to stand out. I’ll share more about that in upcoming articles and a free teleseminar I’m delivering on this topic in a couple of weeks.

For now, let’s first take a look at a couple of things you do NOT need or have to do to stand out.

That should give you some peace of mind already:

#1: You don’t have to be loud

Unless that’s what you naturally are. But if you’re not, you don’t have to be.

So don’t force yourself to be loud if it’s not you. It won’t work for you anyway, if it doesn’t match who you truly are.

You don’t have to become someone you’re not to get noticed. All you have to do is be more of who you already are.

#2: You don’t have to do videos. Or speak from a stage. Or anything else you don’t like.

There are SO many ways to make yourself visible. Yes, videos are a great way to get people to know you. And so is speaking.

But if you don’t like it, or it feels too scary for you right now…you don’t have to do it.

There are other ways to market your business and let your ideal clients now you exist.

Focus on strategies you like, and that suit you and your personality. Pour your heart & soul into that, and forget about all the other ways you COULD be promoting yourself.

#3: You don’t need a fancy logo, brand, tagline or marketing message.

If you have one or more of these things, that’s great. If you don’t, so what?

You don’t need any of those to get noticed and let people know who you are and why they should hire you.

I have been in business for almost 12 years now. And I’ve never had a logo for my business.

I never had a great tagline.

And oh how I wanted to have a brand…but I never really had one.

I can still get a bit jealous when I see people who have all of this beautifully sorted out.

And okay, I‘ll admit, I felt SOOOOOO jealous my skin turned a bit green when I saw this business name & tagline:

“Evil Mad Scientist. DIY and open source hardware for art, education, and world domination.”

Damn, how I’d like something like that for myself! (Especially the world domination part. Hmmm… Let’s see if I can work that into my tagline somehow 😉 )

But once I regained my normal skin tone I just shrugged and thought: ‘whatever’.

Because I KNOW I don’t NEED any of this.

And neither do you.
