How to overcome your fear of being visible

Are you scared of being visible?

You’re not alone. A lot of women coaches are.

As an entrepreneur you HAVE to be visible, though.

If you don’t show up and tell people who you are & how you can help them, you won’t find clients and you can’t make a difference.

Thankfully, you can overcome this fear. And I speak from experience when I say that: I overcame a HUGE fear of being visible myself.

These tips help:

1. Acknowledge your fear

Don’t run away from it. Face it. When you DON’T look at fear, it becomes bigger. And it influences your behavior in ways you’re not even aware of.

When you acknowledge that you’re scared, this immediately takes the edge off.

2. Know you’re not the only one who has this fear

As I wrote at the beginning of this article: a lot of women coaches are afraid of being visible. There’s nothing wrong with you. We’re all scared of it. But what’s scarier: NOT showing up and always wondering what would have happened if you did?

Or biting the bullet, and make yourself and your business visible to the world?

“It’s so scary to show up. It feels dangerous to be seen, it’s terrifying. But it is not as scary, dangerous or terrifying as getting to the end of our lives and thinking—what if I would have shown up? What would have been different?”

3. Show up as YOU

You don’t have to become someone different.

You don’t have to say or do anything you don’t believe in and that doesn’t feel good to you.

On the contrary! Just show us who you really are. There’s nothing more attractive than real people, being true to who they are.

Tell us what you believe in, why your work matters, how your business makes a difference. Share your visions and what you’re passionate about.

That’s what your potential clients want to hear from you. They want to see YOU – not some polished, censored version of you.

4. Focus on what becomes possible if you become more visible

When you fear something, you always automatically focus on this fear and anything that can go wrong.

Change this by changing your perspective:

What wonderful things could happen as a result of becoming more visible?

5. Trust yourself and remember why you can handle it

The main reason to let your fear keep you invisible, is that you don’t believe you can handle more visibility.

For some unconscious reason you think you won’t be able to deal with it.

But that’s not the truth. You have power. You have confidence.

You already show up powerfully in other areas of your business and life.

So stop thinking about reasons why you CAN’T deal with more visibility. And think of 5 reasons why you CAN, and why you’re  powerful enough instead.
