Making money and a difference doing what you love – that’s what we all want, right?

It doesn’t just SOUND good: I can tell you from my experience that it FEELS damned good as well. And I see this in my clients as well.

But there are a lot of myths people believe about doing what you love.

And believing these are true makes it a lot harder (and sometimes even impossible) to make money doing what you love.

I’ll share 3 big fat lies with you in this article and let you in on the truth, or course:

Big fat lie #1: Do what you love, and the money will follow.

A lot of people believe that doing what you love is all it takes to make money.

But it takes much more than that.

You need to know how to find and attract clients. You need to know who your potential clients are, where you can find them and how you can reach them.

You have to know what they’re looking for, what their problems are and what they dream about.

You need to be clear on your offer and its value, and why your clients should buy from you instead of someone else.

You still need to know about marketing and sales.

And yes, all of this becomes so much easier and so much more fun when you love what you do.

But to love what you do, and then sit around and expect people to come buy your stuff, is never enough. Never.

Big fat lie #2: Do what you love, and everything will be easy.

Nah. It won’t.

There will still be hard decisions to make, fears to face, and obstacles to overcome.

You’ll still have off days, cranky moods, and miserable moments.

You’ll still feel so scared about the next step in your business that it almost paralysis you.

You’ll still make mistakes, feel insecure, get disappointed or feel totally incapable of solving whatever problem you’re facing.

Doing what you love does not prevent ANY of this – but it WILL help you move forward, get over it and get back into your flow again.

Big fat lie #3: Do what you love, and your work will never feel like work again, or: you never have to work hard again.

Sure, when you’re busy doing something you love to do, and it’s going smoothly on top of it: that does not feel like work.

But there will always be things that DO feel like work, things you’d rather not do, like for example:

Chores you hate but can’t delegate (yet).

Not feeling too good but not being able to take the day off.

Doing what you love still requires work, and you’re not always in the mood for whatever it is that’s necessary to do.

It IS the BEST thing in the world though – as long as you understand what’s true about it, and what’s not.

So lets finish on a positive note with the absolute truth:

It makes your business and life about a 1000% better, more fulfilling, more fun, and more enjoyable.

It makes you smile, gives you energy, and makes you incredibly happy.

It helps you become more successful and attract clients.

And it keeps you motivated and moving forward when things are temporarily difficult.

This week’s transformational action:

What do you already love about your business?

What don’t you love about it?

Make a list of everything you love and dislike.

How can you do more of what you love? What can you do or change to eliminate the things you don’t love?

Decide you WILL build a business you love, even if you don’t know how to accomplish it just yet.

And then start changing whatever needs to change for you to feel happier in your business.

It IS possible. And very much worth it!
