In the past 10 years, I learned a lot about being an entrepreneur and running a business. In a series of 2 articles, I’m sharing 10 lessons with you.

Last week was part 1.

In this article I share the 5 remaining lessons:

Lesson #6 Let go of everything that doesn’t serve you anymore

If you’d have asked me 10 years ago if I wanted to work globally, be a spiritual teacher and healer, work with groups, and have a mission to reach millions of people worldwide, I’d have asked you if you were out of your f*&%$# mind.

And my answer would have been a big fat NOOOOOOOO!!!!

All I wanted was to spend lots of time alone, coach someone individually every now and then, and go through life invisible and unnoticed.

I also felt that something in me wanted to be expressed. It called me, and its voice grew louder and louder.

My calling called me.

My LIFE was calling me. And I said YES to it.

I’ve been letting go A LOT ever since: fears, doubts, beliefs, patterns, stories about myself and the world and the universe and other people.

Not always easy. But always necessary.

Without letting go something old that no longer serves you, there is no room for something new to come into your life.

Lesson #7 Don’t give up – and do give up

Sometimes, you just feel like giving up.

Don’t – as long as your dream is alive and you still really want it.

And do give up when you no longer want or need it anymore.

You change. Your mission, vision, dreams and desires change.

Give up what you no longer deeply, truly want. And keep the dreams you still love alive.

Lesson #8 What others say or think about you (bad OR good) has nothing to do with you

It doesn’t matter what you do or how you do it: there will always be people who love it and people who hate it. (And most people don’t care or think about you at all.)

Your actions or even just who you are can trigger something in someone else: a desire, pain, dream, hope, frustration…

If this leads to a positive emotion, they compliment you and they’re happy with you.

If it leads to a negative emotion, they can blame you, criticize you, and lash out at you.

They project their feelings and emotions on you. That’s all it is.

In both cases, it has NOTHING to do with you.

Stop caring about it, and don’t let it determine your actions and decisions.

Let your own inner compass determine your actions.

Lesson #9 Don’t wait until you’re ready or everything is perfect

If you really want something and you feel that the time to do it is now, just go for it.

Waiting until you’re ready or everything is perfect is just your fear speaking.

You will never feel ready. The timing or your circumstances will never be perfect.

Go for it anyway.

Do the best you can with what you have from where you are RIGHT NOW.

That’s all you can ever do.

And it’s all you ever need to do.

Lesson #10 Enjoy the journey and relax…

Don’t get too serious. Don’t work too hard. You need to relax. You need to unplug. Working harder is not the answer to getting better or more results.

On the contrary.

It’s tempting to work too much when you love what you do.

Or when you’re stressed out over a deadline or feel the need to make money.

But in the end, it doesn’t work and it’s not much fun either.

It’s important to relax, and enjoy what you’re doing right now.
