Let’s be honest: most marketing is booooring.

Everyone is doing the same things – including me. I’m not saying my marketing ideas are brilliant – they’re not. (Until now, of course 😉


I’ve been doing the same stuff over and over again for years.

Which is OK, as long as I still liked it and it was still effective.

But that recently changed. And I know that it’s no use to do anything if your heart and soul aren’t in it.

When you notice you don’t like certain aspects of your marketing anymore, it’s time for you to shake things up as well.


Here’s how I come up with fresh ideas for copy and marketing.

I hope it inspires you to revive your marketing as well:


Step #1: Say NO

Make a list of all the things you do right now to market your business.

Once you’ve completed your list, take a look at each item:

Do you like doing this? If not, is there a way to make it more interesting or fun?

If the answer is ‘No’, than stop doing it.


Even if thousands of other entrepreneurs are making shitloads of money using this one strategy, OR if you’ve been using it successfully in the past yourself, this basic rule always applies:

If YOU do not like it (anymore), it will not work for YOU. Period.


I’ve been launching all my programs with free teleseminars for the past 5 years.

It used to work very well and I always loved doing it. But when I thought about delivering a free teleseminar to launch my new program Business Magic, I just didn’t feel like it.


So I said NO, even if I didn’t have a clue how to launch it instead.

After that I took the next step:


Step #2: Ask & open up

After I said NO, I asked the universe to bring me an idea I DID like.

Over the years, I’ve learned to trust that inspiration ALWAYS comes when I ask for it, and am open to receive it.


You can do this too.

Just ask the universe to bring you an idea you feel happy and joyful about.

The idea WILL come – it always does. Sometimes immediately, and sometimes you have to wait for it.


Keep it simple and ask it any way you like.

You can write your question down, think about it, or say it out loud. That’s what I usually do. I just talk to the universe like it’s sitting on my couch having coffee with me.

TIP: don’t forget to receive the inspiration! And don’t dismiss the ideas you get either. When you feel joy it’s a sign you’re on to something.

Don’t throw out the idea because it seems too simple, too weird, too scary or too whatever.


If it makes you smile, it’s a good idea.

Then you move on to the next step.


Step #3: Implement

Take action. Implement your idea.

Make sure you stay connected to the feeling of happiness and enthusiasm while you’re implementing, though.


As soon as you feel that fading away, you’re off track.

You’re either overthinking or complicating it, or let yourself be distracted by other people’s opinions or marketing ‘rules’.

Go back to what brings you joy. Follow through. Stay connected to your enthusiasm. And go for it!

This week’s transformational action:

How are you currently marketing your business? Does this still bring you joy?

Take some time to think (or rather: feel) about it.

Have the guts to say NO to whatever you don’t like, regardless of how effective that strategy is for other entrepreneurs.

Ask for fresh ideas instead, and go for it!
