dictionary focus

One of the concerns most of my clients have, is:

How do I get it all done? Where do I find the time and energy to not only run but also grow my business? How do I stay focused?

I bet you can relate to these questions.

We all feel overwhelmed from time to time.

These 3 quick tips help you stay focused:

#1 Does this help you fulfill your mission in business?

There are so many things you can do, and maybe even a lot of things you like and are good at (most of the clients I have are multi-talented. Pretty cool, but it can also make it harder to focus and choose)

A good question to ask yourself before you say ‘yes’ to any opportunity or idea is this:

Does this help me fulfill my mission? Is this something that I am meant or called to do?

If not, say no to it.

Focus on your purpose. Create a Big and compelling mission that’s derived directly from your purpose. And always, always, always make sure your activities help fulfill your mission.

#2 Work with your ideal clients only

Your ideal clients are the people you are uniquely meant to serve. They are also the people you love working with most.

When you work with people you love and that are a perfect match to you and your offer, you can truly shine. You get the best results with them. You have fun with them. You look forward to working with them and meeting or speaking with them again.

This gives you a tremendous amount of joy and energy. Do your clients drain your energy?

Then it might be time to let them go and focus on attracting your ideal clients.

#3 Listen to your intuition

Your intuition knows best. It always tells you what to do, when to do it and often even how to do it.

Take some time each day, at least at the start of each day, to be quiet and listen to your inner voice and wisdom.

What is the best thing you can do today to fulfill your purpose?

What is it that you really need to do NOW?

The answer always comes. And when it does: act upon it.

Which is sometimes easier said than done, of course. The action that’s best for you might be something you’re scared of doing.

Or something that seems totally weird, like going to the beach all day when your to-do list is a mile long.

Listening to your intuition always leads you in your best direction.

This saves you the trouble of over thinking things (which only leads to standing still or feeling totally overwhelmed) or running around being busy without getting the results to show for it.

This week’s Transformational Action

The first thing to do if you need to regain your focus is this:

Stop.

Relax.

Take a deep, deep breath.

Take at least a five-minute break – yes, especially when you are very, very busy!

Close your eyes. Focus on your mission, your purpose, and your vision. Connect to it.

Then ask yourself:

What is the ONE thing I can do right now that contributes most to fulfilling my mission and enjoying it?

Expect an answer. It will come. And then act upon it.
